Health Equity
Work Ready Solutions is committed to equitable health and economic opportunities. Underserved communities and individuals of color are too often shut out of the labor market. Foundational work readiness skill development and planning are important first steps. By providing access to the Work Ready Solutions platform, healthcare entities jump start member employability and ultimately put members on the path to financial stability and better health.
What the research says about health equity and wealth equity.
- As a society, we must recognize that permitting continued exclusion of groups of Americans from opportunities to acquire wealth is not only unfair, but also comes with high risks to our nation ... including unnecessary suffering; avoidable health care costs; and lost potential for families and communities to thrive. Urban Institute, Wealth Matters for Health Equity.
- The greater one’s income, the lower one’s likelihood of disease and premature death. Studies show that Americans at all income levels are less healthy than those with incomes higher than their own. Not only is income associated with better health, but wealth affects health as well. Center on Society and Health, Urban Institute, “How are Income and Wealth Linked to Health and Longevity?”
